Klamath Pass Ranch
The Klamath Pass Ranch is located in Siskiyou County. The ranch has 693 acres which includes 428 irrigated acres and 265 acres used for pasture. The ranch has been used primarily as a hay ranch with cows and calves as a secondary business. The reverse would work as well giving versatility to an ever changing marketplace.
Klamath Pass Ranch joins the west side of Hwy 97 which gives great access in all types of weather for loading your hay crop or unloading cattle trucks. The city of Klamath Falls is 20 miles north with businesses like John Deere, Big R, Home Depot, Fred Meyer and Wal-Mart.
Most of the ranch soil types are high quality, well drained, sandy loam soils. Two low lift wells with electric motors provide water for two pivots and several wheel lines. Currently the ranch grows a 60/40 hay crop of alfalfa/orchard grass. In 09 they put up 26,250 three wire bales for the feed store business and 110 round bales for feeding cattle at home in winter. Hay crops in this area have customarily produced 5-6 tons per acre year after year.
Ranch improvements include modern 1,400 sf home, a 2,000 sf shop for maintenance and winter storage and a pole barn for 500 tons of hay storage.
