Description of the Land
The Rafter L Ranch is one of the most scenic and beautiful Trophy Ranches in Central California. Located about 18 miles southeast of the quaint little town of Santa Margarita in San Luis Obispo County, the ranch borders the quaint and even more little town of Pozo and the Los Padres National Forest. The main draw to this ranch, however, is the land itself. The topography varies from flat farmland and pasture to oak covered hills and valleys. The Salinas river winds through the southeastern portion of the ranch. As you can see by browsing through the photographs at the left, the land has a little bit of everything - pasture, rocks, majestic oaks, and gorgeous views in every direction. From Highway 101 north of San Luis Obispo, take Highway 58 to and through Santa Margarita, then take West Pozo Road and follow the signs to the town of Pozo. From there, East Pozo road travels along the north side of the ranch and Avenales Ranch Road takes you along much of the eastern edge. See the location map on the left for details.
