FEATHER RIVER RANCH
331 acres, Beckwourth, Plumas County, California

Over a mile of the main channel of the middle fork of the Feather River passes through this unique ranch. These are the headwaters or confluence of the Feather River and traverse the property in a series of channels. The wetlands provide ideal conditions for various bird species including ducks, geese and other water fowl. The varied water features also provide for excellent trout fishing.

The 331 acres is located on the northwestern side of the prestigious Sierra Valley just off County Rd. A-23, the Beckwourth Calpine Rd. It is less than an hour from the Reno Tahoe International Airport and an hour from Lake Tahoe and several world class ski resorts.

There are no improvements on the property other than a unique roll up fencing system (which helps prevent yearly repair and maintenance due to extensive spring runoff) and Decker Dam, a 600 ft wide concrete dam, which makes for an ideal fishing situation.

Power is provided by Plumas Sierra Rural Co-op and is on the property. Sewer would require an engineered septic system. There are a couple of possible building sites near the western border of the property. The land is bordered to the west by a Certified Organic Nursery. Adjudicated water rights go with the property enough to flood irrigate approximately 138 acres for hay production and summer grazing. An Ag well could be drilled for additional irrigation if desired.

Unlike some ranches in the Sierra Valley, the Feather Ranch has not been over grazed; in fact it hasnt been grazed at all in the past 8 years which has helped maintain the integrity of the riparian corridor including the river banks, native grasses, willows and natural wildlife.
